Barr was born November 3, 1952 in Salt Lake City Utah. At the age of 18 she left home to begin her comedy career, starting with stand-up gigs in before moving to Los Angeles to work at The Comedy Store. In 1987 she had her own HBO special called The Roseanne Barr Show which earned her an American Comedy Award. She then starred in the sitcom Roseanne which ran for 9 seasons and won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her work. Following her sitcom she launched The Roseanne Show which aired from 1998 to 2000. In 2005 she did a stand-up comedy tour and in 2011 began a reality show about her macadamia nut farm in Hawaii. Barr is running for President in 2012.
